RECENT NEWS
WHAT IS CAFE KUR?
This is a question we often receive
regarding our lovable daytime, late night, and filler format we
call "Cafe KUR." Whenever specialty shows are not on-the-air, we
turn on the lights in "Cafe KUR," a melodic blend of jazz, cool
jazz, and familiar pop oldies/classic hits. The jazz fills a
hole in a local radio environment without ample jazz on-air,
while also playing familiar pop tunes to keep your musical mind
on a familiarity level. It's a custom crafting of music that
blends artists like George Benson, Miles Davis, Brian
Culbertson, Dave Koz, and Chris Botti with artists like Elvis
Presley, Heart, Neil Diamond, the Beatles, and John Mellencamp.
If ever you'd like a song added to the Cafe, send us an e-mail
or give us a call!

SCAM
ALERT
KUR has once again been made aware of a
scam going around in which an unknown person is making calls to
people and asking them to participate in a $1,000 giveaway if a
few questions are answered or a challenge is taken. KUR would
like to once again inform the public that no such
station-sponsored event is occurring, and we are attempting to
trace the source of these calls. We apologize and encourage you
to direct any concerns to your local police and to KUR. Our
number here at KUR is (610)-683-4059.
-----------------------------------------
MISSION OF KUR
The
purpose of KUR is to
provide a means of student training and experience in radio
broadcasting, to provide a means of entertainment and
information for the student body and community, to serve the
public interest, and to be an instrument of expression for
student, faculty, and community opinion, in accordance with the
rules of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and KU
policy.
Any
views or opinions expressed on KUR are not necessarily those of
Kutztown University, Kutztown University Student Services
Incorporated (KUSSI), the Kutztown University Student Government
Board (SGB), KUR staff and management, or other affiliated
organizations.

CONTEST RULES
Kutztown University Radio occasionally runs an
over-the-air contest soliciting listeners to call in and win a
prize or qualify for a prize. Some basic rules to remember:
1) Unless otherwise stated, contests are open to anyone other than people directly
affiliated with KUR, meaning KUR members are not eligible to
participate and win. Per approval from KU's KUSSI department,
the contests are open to anyone else including University
students, faculty, staff, and of course any random listeners in
the local, national, or international community. An exception to
this would be contests specifically for KU students only,
whereupon such would clearly be stated in conjunction with the
giveaway.
2) Please only one winner per family.
3) You are not allowed to win any KUR contest more than once
every 30 days.
4) Prizes are to be picked up at KUR's offices during normal
business hours which can be acquired by arrangement with a KUR
staff member. Under special circumstances, KUR may agree to mail
the prize, but this is not guaranteed. You are normally
responsible for picking up your own prize.
5) KUR is not responsible for any losses or damages that occur
from the use of any prize you win from the radio station.
6) KUR never
conducts any contests where we would call you. Any such contest call you may
receive should be considered a scam and reported to your local
authorities and/or KUR. The only exception to this would be if
you signed up to win a prize from one of our promotional tables,
whereupon we will only call you if you won one of the prizes.
7) Any questions about any of these rules should be directed to
KUR management at (610)-683-4059.
8) Good luck!
